At MCM Comic Con 2025, eBay returned with an upgraded version of their AI Trading Card activation.
Building on our work together in 2024, eBay wanted to reinforce their position as the go-to platform for second-hand trading cards.
This year, visitors didn’t just leave with a premium printed trading card – they also received a branded AI Mini Movie in their inbox, animating their design and giving them a second, highly shareable memento.

The Brief
eBay’s objective was clear: engage Comic Con attendees with an experience that aligned directly with their passion for trading cards. They wanted:
- To establish eBay as the trusted marketplace for second-hand trading cards
- To deliver an interactive, personalised activation for Comic Con guests
- To build brand affinity while collecting email data for future marketing
Our Approach
Following the success of the 2024 activation, Noonah brought back the AI Trading Card Station – now powered by a full AI Photo Booth.
The experience:
- Enter personal details via a custom-branded UI
- Choose: a full AI avatar (superhero/fantasy style) or an AI-generated background only (for cosplayers)
- Select superpower-style attributes and persona traits
- Pose for a photo in the AI Photo Booth
- Preview and approve the design – or retake it if desired
Behind the scenes, the system instantly:
- Generated a custom AI Trading Card
- Added fun, game-style stats
- Routed it to our branded printing station
- Packaged it into a premium card holder
- Triggered an email containing a branded AI Mini Movie that animated the guest’s trading card, complete with eBay overlays and a custom end screen for maximum brand presence
The AI Mini Movie acted as both a personal keepsake and a digital hook for social sharing, extending the activation’s impact long after the guest left the stand.
The Result
The activation generated over 1,000 personalised trading cards and an equal number of AI Mini Movies, with guests impressed by the instant transformation, print quality, and the surprise of a second, animated version delivered straight to their inbox.
The combination of physical and digital takeaways turned eBay’s stand into a social hub and ensured the brand lived on in post-event conversations online.
